    images of the state of OregonThe Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is the central administrative agency of Oregon state government.

    DAS works to effectively implement the policy and financial decisions made by the Governor and the Oregon Legislature. The department also sets and monitors high standards of accountability to ensure that state government uses tax dollars productively. To fulfill its mission, DAS supports state agencies by providing a strong and stable management infrastructure. As part of this effort, DAS works with private enterprise, citizens, and other government entities to develop an efficient service delivery system.

  • A New Business Model for DAS - Entrepreneurial Management

    images of the state of OregonDAS will transition in July to a new business model known as Entrepreneurial Management, the heart of which is customer involvement. 

    Under the EM business model, DAS will make several organizational shifts, structuring the agency to resolve any confusion caused by its simultaneous roles: policy-making and service-delivery. Customer-led utility boards for each DAS service enterprise will reflect the voices of the agency's diverse customer base and include agencies of all sizes.

Meet the state's Chief Operating Officer
Governor Kitzhaber has created a new position to review outdated systems, streamline departments and create efficiencies and cost savings in state government. The former head of Metro, Michael J. Jordan, is now Chief Operating Officer for state agencies; he reports directly to the Governor. Mr. Jordan leads the day-to-day operations of the state and is director of DAS. Read more

Transformation at DAS
DAS embarked on a transformation initiative in late 2009. The "Wall-2-Wall Initiative" involves implementing a new management system and an entrepreneurial management business model. Learn more at the Transformation website.

DAS closed on May 25 for furlough
Closed May 25Due to state budget reductions, the Department of Administrative Services will be closed on Friday, May 25. DAS offices will re-open on Tuesday, May 29 following the Memorial Day holiday. Thank you for your patience.
